These reimaginations of Harry Potter characters by Australian Rotae Lupin introduce the likes of Ron, Hermoine and Draco as scarf-wearing, skinny-jeaned hipsters.

Gail Armstrong’s style of paper sculpture illustration is unique and, over the years, she’s applied my paper engineering skills to a wide variety of projects. She began by producing an accurate line-drawing showing the proposed layout and detail of the paper sculpture. Then she’d create the final paper model, staying as true to the drawing as possible as the image translates from 2D into 3D. There’s also the “digital collage” route, whereby she scans the individual 3D elements and create simple cutouts and collage in Photoshop, achieving a different look and feel to the final illustration from photography.
